Kennedale board discusses spring community movie night, new shades and ballpark design progress

Speaker 1 opened a discussion about hosting a family movie night at Town Center Park and emphasized a spring date to avoid cold weather. Speaker 2 said staff could check Town Center scheduling and noted the department has a projector and speaker options or can rent equipment.

Members discussed logistics including audio (using wireless car-audio-style FM transmission or portable speakers), vendor involvement for popcorn and concessions, and possible sponsorships to offset costs. Speaker 3 offered a spare projector and screen for use.

In reports, Speaker 2 said solar lighting is now installed at Rogers Farm and Sonora Park, two picnic-table shades at Sonora should be completed by week’s end, the ballpark design is about 50% complete with expected ground breaking around January and activity by late spring, and a barbecue pit for Rogers Farm has been purchased for future installation.
