On Nov. 11 the Monroeville council voted to authorize advertisement of the ordinances necessary to adopt the municipality’s 2026 budget and associated salary and fee schedules.
Councilmember Graziani summarized the proposal: estimated revenues and expenditures of $41,390,705 for the calendar year beginning Jan. 1, a real estate tax rate fixed at 5.5 mills (equal to $5.50 per $1,000 of assessed value), continuation of deed transfer, mercantile, business privilege and local service taxes pursuant to the Local Tax Enabling Act of 1965, a 3% flat pay adjustment for nonunion employees, and a $20.26 fee schedule. He noted union‑governed positions are governed by existing contracts.
Council moved to authorize advertisement, the motion was seconded and passed by roll call. The authorization permits public notice and sets up future hearings where residents may comment before final adoption.
