Council introduces multiple contracts, grants and purchase orders, including $3.63M ALDOT grant

Clerk introduced a broad consent and CIP slate during the Nov. 12 pre‑meeting, covering grants, contract authorizations and purchase orders.

Key items introduced or described: an Alabama Department of Transportation grant application for $3,631,500 to support an Airbus distribution center industrial access project (no local match required); a CIP authorization to contract with Volker for Perch Creek Preserve design; a purchase order to GameTime for playground equipment ($649,921.69); a one‑year cybersecurity protection service from Iron Bow Technologies ($83,826.29); fire turnout gear ($16,060); and multiple other service contracts for parks, janitorial services, veterinary services for municipal animal care, and video management system implementation ($1,500,000).
