Library license, school fundraiser add digital and print books for Roswell students

The Roswell Public Library purchased a three‑year TumbleBooks Library license with GEO bond funds and told the school board Nov. 11 that the district and private schools will be able to access the digital resource.

"We use GEO bond money and it is available through the public library and we also are making it available to the schools," said Enid Cosley, library director, adding she would coordinate with district IT to provide a direct link and the usernames/passwords the library has established.

Separately, the board approved a donation tied to the East Grand Plains Book Blast fundraiser. Ms. Busby told the board families raised $11,934.99 to purchase 807 books so that most students receive at least two books to keep at home; she said kindergarten students would receive six books and the program provides prizes and a community donation link. Ms. Busby said about $890 would remain for the school to spend on additional books.

The board moved to accept the donation and voted unanimously to approve it.
