Lee County plans spring roof replacements after summer hail; RTU repair scheduled

County maintenance staff told the board that hail this summer caused damage to several roofs, including at the Law Enforcement Center and animal control, and that staff plan to use insurance proceeds to replace damaged metal roofing.

Eric said the hail damage is not ‘super extensive’ but that using the insurance money for the replacements will be necessary or the funds could be lost. He said staff expect to run the bid process and pursue the work in spring.

Separately, Eric said RTU 4 has a malfunctioning damper motor and that repair should be scheduled this week or next.
