Ada County treasurer: tax bills to be mailed by Nov. 24 after property tax reduction certified; two parcels sold at auction

Ada County Treasurer Beth Blan told the Board of Commissioners on Nov. 4 that the county has certified the property tax reduction (PTR) with the Idaho State Tax Commission and will proceed to create and mail tax bills. Staff expect printing to take 7–10 days; bills must be mailed no later than Nov. 24, 2025. The treasurer warned that any tax cancellations made after this meeting will be processed as adjustments after bills are mailed.

The board approved two quitclaim deeds for parcels acquired by the county through tax deed and sold at public auction. One parcel sold for the minimum bid of $481.93. The second parcel sold for $2,413.38, producing excess proceeds of $1,962.77. The treasurer explained excess proceeds are distributed through a statutory claims process to parties in interest (lien holders or the prior owner of record if no claimants exist).

Staff instructed that these sales and the approved tax cancellations will be reflected on the tax bills produced this month. The board approved the deeds on the public record and authorized the chair to sign the sale documents.
