The Board of Education of the Clark Public Schools accepted the retirement of Rick Delmonico and recognized his 28 years of service to the district.
Board members spoke at length about Delmonico's career. One member said, "I thank him for his 28 years of service here in the Clark Schools," and noted his family's long history in education, including a mother who worked as a speech pathologist and a father who served as a high school principal and assistant superintendent. Another member recalled having Delmonico as a teacher and coach and said his "dedication and commitment to the district is really kind of unparalleled."
Delmonico addressed the board and community. He thanked colleagues and parents, reflected on teaching many students over the years and said it had been "a pleasure to work with all your kids." He noted with appreciation that many former students now work with him as colleagues.
At the meeting the board also recognized that 14 teachers achieved perfect attendance for the year. The superintendent and board members extended thanks to the retirees and staff and wished them well.
