Woodland Parks and Recreation Commission elects Henry chair, Carla vice chair

The Woodland Parks and Recreation Commission on Oct. 27, 2025, appointed Commissioner Henry as chair and Commissioner Carla as vice chair for the remainder of the year following the prior chair’s departure. Commissioners approved both nominations by voice vote.

Commissioners opened the agenda item to fill leadership vacancies after the July meeting left the chair position vacant. A commissioner moved to appoint Henry as chair for the remainder of the term; another commissioner seconded the motion. The motion passed on a unanimous voice vote. Commissioners then moved and seconded a nomination to appoint Carla as vice chair; that motion also passed on a unanimous voice vote.

The nominations followed a review of the July minutes showing prior temporary assignments after a midyear change. During discussion before the votes, Henry said, “If nobody minds, I'll be chair for this year again, you know, get some more practice in. I like it.” Commissioners responded in support and completed both votes.

No other formal actions accompanied the leadership appointments. The commission resumed its regularly scheduled business after the votes and later adjourned at the end of the meeting.
