Planning Commission approves consent agenda and adopts 2026 meeting schedule

The Planning Commission approved the consent agenda that included minutes from its Oct. 14 meeting and the following items read into the record by Vice Chair Haney: multiple plan amendments and rezoning cases (items 2–22), with several applicant or staff postponements noted to November 13 or December 9 and an indefinite applicant postponement for one 2023 plan amendment.

Notable consent items read aloud included cases for Shady Lane (NPA 2024-0016.05 and rezoning C14-2025-005), 1012 East 30th Street (NPA-2025-0019.03 and C14-2025-0082), 1904 San Bridal (NPA-2025-0046 and C14-2025-0046), Metric Boulevard (NPA-2025-0024.01 and C14-2025-0052), Southtown plan and rezoning postponements to November 13 (NPA-2025-0025.02 and C14-2025-0079), and others listed in the consent reading. The clerk announced multiple registered speakers; most applicants and registered speakers waived their time. Commissioner Ahmed asked staff clarifying questions about items 6 and 7 (1012 East 30th Street); staff said the application under consideration is limited to that single lot and no site plan had been filed.

A motion by Commissioner Breton, seconded by Commissioner Hiller, closed the public hearing and approved the consent agenda; the chair announced the motion passed and the consent agenda concluded.

Separately, the commission approved its 2026 meeting calendar. After discussing alternative dates for late-November and December meetings, commissioners selected November 16, 2026 for the second November meeting and December 16, 2026 for the second December meeting (approving the remainder of the calendar as presented). The calendar was adopted by motion from Commissioner Powell seconded by Commissioner Bedrosian; the chair noted the schedule can be amended later if needed.
