The Robertson Board of Health reviewed multiple water-quality reports at its July 8 meeting, including an annual report from a condominium association and Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) beach samples for local ponds.
Members said the Silver condominium association's 2024 annual water-quality report was received and that the association's testing timeline was similar to prior years. For local swimming areas, the board noted Comet Pond and Cushman Pond showed lower bacteria counts compared with previous tests and that E. coli results were not elevated at the sampled locations.
Board members requested additional testing for metals where appropriate, specifically manganese and iron, which members said have been recurring concerns for town wells. The board agreed to ask for prompt results and to request those analyses when samples are collected.
No formal enforcement action was discussed; the board characterized the pond results as reassuring for the current sampling period and agreed to keep monitoring.
