Weston County commissioners considered and approved a series of citizen board appointments during the meeting.
A motion to reappoint Tom Bruce to the Child Support Authority passed by voice vote. The board also appointed Eric Cragle to a public seat on the (referred to in the minutes as the "bridal"/predator board) and appointed Caleb Carter to the Mallet/Mallow camp board; Commissioners discussed potential conflicts of interest and agreed to add a conflict-of-interest acknowledgment or letter of expectations to the next meeting’s old-business agenda for appointees with related interests.
The board also approved appointments to the Pest Control/Weed & Pest board, naming Clay Bradskin, Taylor Tivigy and a third appointee in a grouped motion; the board approved the slate by voice vote. Where a conflict of interest was discussed (Caleb Carter’s role and ties to natural resource bureaus), commissioners requested a written acknowledgment asking the appointee to recuse themselves on matters where a direct conflict arises.
All appointment motions were seconded and carried on voice votes; the minutes record the customary ‘‘aye’’ responses without individual roll-call tallies.
