Votes at a glance: minutes approved; MTIP amendment added ODOT EV charging sites

Several formal actions were recorded at the Bend MPO policy board meeting.

Approval of prior minutes: The board moved to approve the 03/26/2025 budget committee draft minutes and the 04/18/2025 policy board draft minutes. Omar Ahmed moved the motion and it was seconded by Councilor Mike Riley. The motion passed with Commissioner Bill Chang recorded as abstaining.

MTIP amendment: The board voted to approve a Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP) amendment that adds ODOT electric vehicle charging sites for ODOT maintenance fleets in multiple regions (including a location in Bend) and increases preliminary engineering and construction phase funding. Staff said the project total is “just under $2.6 million” in combined federal and state funds sourced from a Carbon Reduction Program for small urban and rural areas. Councilor Mike Riley moved approval of the MTIP amendment; Commissioner Bill Chang seconded. The motion passed with Omar Ahmed recorded as abstaining.

Bylaws approval (referenced here but covered in full in a separate article): The board also approved amended bylaws and directed staff to initiate the member review process; that motion was moved by Councilor Mike Riley, seconded by Omar Ahmed and passed unanimously.
