Commissioners receive update on Human Services Building HVAC issues

Beaver County commissioners received an update on Aug. 6, 2025, about HVAC problems at the Human Services Building after staff reported intermittent ventilation issues and a Carrier representative inspected the system.

A county staff member described the problem as a ventilation circulation issue and said Carrier sent a representative after the county informed the company the unit was being moved. "What they did was they found out that there is a ventilation circulation issue. ... they found that there are a couple of louvers in some of the vents that were ... stuck shut," the staff member said. County staff said Carrier is completing an evaluation and will report back on needed repairs.

Commissioners were advised that the issue could be expensive if additional repairs are required; staff said they would provide further details before authorizing more extensive work. No formal action was taken at the work session.
