Social‑media policy deferred; policy repeal scheduled for legislative second reading

At the start of the August policy committee meeting, staff announced that the district's Social Media Policy (8.17) will return to the policy committee in October for final review after input from the new director of technology. "With the addition of our new director of technology, Miss Yenser, we are going to bring back kind of final thoughts in October at our next policy committee meeting," staff member Ashley said.

Committee members also discussed a separate local policy (referred to as EAC, possibly Policy 97.1), noting that the item had moved out of policy to the board legislative agenda and was scheduled for second‑reading repeal at the August legislative meeting. "I think it's on for second reading repeal for August legislative," a committee member said.

No substantive debate or vote on either item occurred at the policy committee meeting; the social‑media draft was deferred for further review and the EAC repeal was reported as scheduled on the legislative agenda.
