The Idaho Falls City Council on Oct. 23 approved final-plats actions for two separate residential subdivisions.
Highland Park Addition, Second Amendment: Council accepted the final plat and approved the associated reason statement and authorization for the mayor, city engineer and city clerk to sign the documents. Staff said the application involved infill development in the Anderson and Bear Street area; the Planning and Zoning Commission approved the item unanimously.
The Reserve at Snake River Landing Division No. 2: Council approved a development agreement, accepted the final plat and approved the reason statement of relevant criteria and standards for the final plat. Staff described the project as the western portion of a multi-phase residential development west of Sunnyside Road near existing auto-dealer and storage areas. The approved actions cover the initial phase and associated road dedications; staff said a planned PUD (planned unit development) application for later phases will follow.
Councilors asked questions about the packet maps and staff clarified that some utility and roadway drawings in the packet were illustrative of the larger project and that the council needed to focus on the plat and the phasing for the current approval. All votes on the plats and the development agreement were unanimous by roll call.
The council authorized the mayor, city engineer and city clerk to sign the final-plat documents and directed staff to continue processing subsequent phases per standard procedures.
