Santiago Avila Gomez, serving as executive secretary/executive officer for the Agricultural Labor Relations Board, presented the agency’s operations update on elections, unfair labor practice complaints, and pending matters.
Avila Gomez said there has been no election activity since the last meeting. He reported one unfair labor practice charge initially issued Sept. 23, 2025, was refiled on Sept. 25, 2025; that charge involves Man Packing Company Inc. and Dominguez Farms Inc., case number 2023CE036SAL, and concerns fresh-vegetable commodities, including broccolini, in Monterey County.
Avila Gomez also described an ALRB administrative order issued Sept. 5, 2025 (ALRB Admin Order No. 2025-13), granting the general counsel’s request to enforce a subpoena in a matter involving Mooch Farms, Inc. (also referenced in the record under an alternate name). He listed two pending matters before the board: Veil of Farms of Salinas LLC (case number 2021CE-018-SAL), which references underlying board decisions (49 ALRB No. 1 and 51 ALRB No. 1) and a regional director motion related to eligibility for payout from the Agricultural Employee Relief Fund filed Sept. 15; and Trifinuti Farms (case numbers 2013CE008VIS and 2013CE014VIS), where the decision and recommended order of the administrative law judge has issued and exceptions are due Nov. 24, 2025 (Avila Gomez corrected an earlier statement and confirmed the exceptions due date).
Avila Gomez concluded by noting staff will post an edited report on the ALRB website alongside the meeting notice.
