Commission approves five CDBG public-service subrecipient agreements for 2025

Mary Cask, assistant director of community development, told the Elkhart City Redevelopment Commission on Oct. 14 that five local nonprofit organizations will receive community development block grant (CDBG) public-service subawards under the city’s public-service cap for 2025.

The five subrecipients are the Boys & Girls Club of Elkhart County, Council on Aging of Elkhart County, Health Plus Indiana, Maple City Health Center, and the YWCA of North Central Indiana. Cask said the funds are intended to benefit low- and moderate-income beneficiaries in the city.

"The use is the community development block grants, subrecipient agreements for 5 subrecipients, using our public service cap of community development block grant funds," Mary Cask said. Commissioners approved the subrecipient agreements by voice vote.

The agreements outline the terms under which each nonprofit will receive and expend CDBG funds for public-service activities directed at eligible beneficiaries.
