Randolph County Schools board approves state textbook list, FFA trip and personnel actions

At its meeting, the Randolph County Schools Board of Education approved a set of routine administrative items by voice vote, including adopting the state‑approved list of K‑12 science textbooks and supplemental materials, authorizing a travel request for FFA students, and approving the personnel action sheet.

The board voted to adopt the entire state‑approved tier 1 and tier 2 textbook and supplemental materials list for science, grades K‑12, as recommended by the local textbook committee. Miss Braden commented that adopting the entire approved list makes it easier for the district to purchase from the state‑approved options.

The board approved a request for an out‑of‑state field trip for approximately two FFA students to travel to Peoria, Georgia, to attend the National Junior Swine Show from Jan. 14 through Jan. 17, with Brad Johnson listed on the trip request.

Trustees also approved the personnel action sheet as presented. Routine procedural items — approval of the meeting agenda and the minutes of the Dec. 19, 2024 board meeting — were adopted earlier in the session.
