County staff say Senator Baldwin will not open an office in Iroquois County; boardroom reconfiguration discussed

County staff briefed the committee on county office-space planning and a reported decision by Senator Baldwin’s office not to open a local office in Iroquois County.

One committee member said Kyra Ebert had spoken with the senator’s office and that their current position is to place offices along the I-55 corridor rather than in Iroquois County. The member said he had previously been told by Paul that office space near June or July would be arranged, but staff later communicated the senator’s team would not occupy an office in Iroquois County at this time.

The committee also discussed ongoing work on an administrative office floor plan and a separate boardroom-configuration review. Staff reported a new administrative office near the end of the hall is largely finished and that the county will continue to refine plans and consult with stakeholders on desired layouts.
