Committee approves five job‑classification updates, effective immediately

The Adams County Administration & HR Committee approved five job‑classification and title changes recommended by HR and the county’s risk‑management consultant. Committee members approved the changes and set the effective date as immediately following the committee meeting.

HR reported that some sheriff's office front‑office job descriptions did not reflect current duties; the consultant recommended a one‑grade increase for one administrative position and a one‑grade increase for an administrative support clerk whose responsibilities were expanded to include civil processing and transcription duties.

In the finance department, the lead fiscal specialist position was updated to include HR duties and will be reclassified as a part‑time human resources specialist while remaining at the same pay grade. A fiscal accounting clerk position received a recommended reclassification and title adjustment to reflect additional responsibilities; the consultant recommended a raise in pay grade for that position. The HR manager said these were the last positions under review in the current cycle and recommended the changes be effective immediately rather than retroactive to Jan. 1.

Supervisor Edwards moved to approve the changes as recommended by risk strategies and HR; the motion passed on a voice vote. Committee members asked that HR coordinate effective dates and documentation with payroll and that Lianna (county clerk/administrator staff) be given any necessary lists to complete implementation.

The committee also approved a recommendation that effective dates be "today," enabling HR and finance to implement the new classifications promptly. The committee passed the motion without recorded opposition.
