Conference committee approves HB1093 to standardize Public Housing Authority definition

A joint House–Senate conference committee on April 22 approved HB1093 HD1 SD1 to standardize the statutory definition of a housing project under the Hawaii Public Housing Authority, adopting language from the SD1 and making that definition effective upon approval.

Conferees said the bill replaces the definition of "housing" or "housing project" found in Section 3,500 and sixty-eleven [as read in the hearing] with the standardized definition under Section 3,500 and sixty-one and that both chambers had agreement on adopting the SD1 language. The committee recorded agreement to make the change effective upon approval.

The chair called for the vote; the chair and multiple conferees registered "Aye," and the chair declared the bill passed out of the conference committee with the CD1 and amendments as recorded. Representative Poipoi (house co-chair) and named senators were recorded as voting in favor in the hearing record.
