Board approves three high-school teaching hires; new teachers speak about priorities

The RSU 40/MSAD 40 Board of Directors approved three teaching appointments and each newly approved teacher addressed the board briefly.

Lauren Abate was presented as "Lauren Abate, teacher, Madomet Valley High School." After the board vote, Lauren Abate (teacher) thanked the board and said she was "really excited for the opportunity to serve the students and communities of RSU 40. Thank you so much for your help. I'm excited." Justin Berry was presented as "Justin Berry, teacher, Warren Community School." After his approval he spoke about the interview process and his approach to music education, saying he wants to make music accessible to all students and described treating music learning like language acquisition. Morgan Murray, identified as a teacher for Madomet Valley High School, also thanked the board and said she was "really excited and grateful for the opportunity to work with the students at MBHS. I can't wait for September."
