Board OKs roof-pitch variance at 16424 Hubs Road to allow manufactured home placement

The City of Central Board of Adjustment granted a variance to allow a roof pitch of less than 6 on 12 at 16424 Hubs Road to accommodate a manufactured home for the applicant’s daughter.

Applicant Darless Tippler told the board he sought relief from the city’s roof-pitch requirement because he plans to place a manufactured home on the 0.91-acre parcel and already has a 40-by-41-foot shop on the lot. “I'm just trying to get a variance on the roof pitch because I'm putting a manufactured home there for my daughter,” Tippler said.

Staff and board members reviewed surrounding lot sizes and said similar uses and structures are already present in the subdivision along the side road. The board determined the lot’s dimensions and the local pattern of development supported a finding of uniqueness and moved to approve the variance. No public objections were recorded during the hearing.

A motion to approve the variance passed on roll call.

Any required building permits and inspections must still be secured from city permitting before installation of the manufactured home.
