Plano voters elect four new councilmembers, approve $650 million bond; Mayor Muns reelected

Steve Stoler, Plano’s business development relations director, said Plano voters elected four new city councilmembers and approved the city’s largest bond referendum in history, and that Mayor John Muns, who ran unopposed, was reelected.

The approved bond totals $650,000,000 and includes projects ranging from street improvements to a new police headquarters, Stoler said. “Voters approved all 7 propositions in the city's largest bond referendum in history,” he said during the city’s weekly news bulletin.

Councilmember-elects named in the announcement were Bob Kerr, Chris Krupa Downs, Steve Levine and Vidal Quintanilla. The broadcast did not provide vote totals, ward or district information for the new councilmembers, nor did it specify a construction schedule or line-item spending breakdown for the bond package.
