Board accepts custodial-supplies bids and approves surplus property sales

FORT THOMAS, Ky. — The Fort Thomas Independent Schools Board on Monday accepted vendor bids for custodial supplies and approved declarations of surplus furniture and theater items.

The district solicited bids for custodial supplies and received 14 vendor responses, the most in recent history, officials told the board. Some vendors bid on only specialized items; district staff said Murphy Supply and Mailander received the largest shares of the awarded items. Staff noted respondents included price-change clauses tied to tariffs and reserved the right to refer to the next-lowest bidder if prices shifted during the year.

The board approved the accepted bids for custodial supplies for the 2025–26 school year by voice vote.

On surplus property, the district reported three responses to a surplus-furniture notice and said employees purchased 10 items, producing $225.60 in receipts. The board approved acceptance of the submitted bids and authorized disposal of remaining surplus items by the district's chosen means.
