Cheyenne budgets RingCentral migration, cloud backups and multifactor authentication for IT

The Compliance Department budget presentation included an IT request to fund a phone‑system migration and additional cybersecurity backups.

Tyler Nelson, identified in the presentation as the IT division director, and Director Fountain described a planned migration from legacy phone systems to RingCentral. Fountain said the project budget includes $160,000 for migration costs (approximately $60,000 for one‑time hardware expenses and $100,000 for the RingCentral subscription), a $39,000 increase for NetVault and Office 365 cloud backup maintenance, and a $22,000 equipment increase for server, network switch and storage upgrades.

Fountain said multi‑factor authentication and backup systems are not inexpensive but are essential for infrastructure resilience. He credited IT staff with handling 2,232 service tickets in the reporting period and said the team participates on a WARM cyber committee and has been noticed in national publications for its work.
