Resident raises access concerns for replat; Planning Commission approves consent agenda item

Martha Perdomo Figueroa, a homeowner at 22127 Touring Lane, told the San Antonio Planning Commission on Oct. 22 that a planned replat has removed street access to her front door and asked the city to restore pedestrian access when the lot is replotted.

Perdomo Figueroa said the house she bought in December 2017 originally had both a front door and a garage door with street access, but later changes left the front door without a direct street approach. "So I would like the replat to reconsider and redesign and rebuild our walking entrance and the street access for our main door," she said.

A commissioner asked whether the replat covers land the homeowner owns or whether there is a boundary discrepancy; a city staff member said staff would look at GIS and return with a more complete answer. "But I do not think that this plat is affecting . . . her property, but we're going to get some more answers here," a staff member said.

Chair Peck then called for a motion on the consent agenda. Commissioner Proppitt moved and Commissioner Siegel seconded. The clerk conducted a roll call vote; the motion passed with the commissioners present voting in favor.

The commission record cites the case as "Case No. 417" in the clerk's exchange with the resident. The staff commitment to review GIS and property boundaries was the only specific follow-up noted on the record; no corrective action on the replat was recorded at the meeting.

The consent agenda item passed; staff will provide an update to the resident after reviewing boundary data and the submitted plat.
