City staff reported that bridge abutment construction is underway on the East Wenatchee side and that completing the South End Bike Pedestrian Access Bridges Project (City Project No. 2201.2) requires relocation of the Wenatchee Reclamation District’s mainline steel pipe on the Wenatchee side of the river.
Staff said the work is isolated to the west side of the bridge approach before the railroad tracks and helical ramp and that the agreement captures the warranty obligations and process for performing the relocation on the district’s behalf. The agreement was reviewed by the city attorney and reclamation-district staff.
Council Member Harold moved and Council Member Navarro Gomez seconded a motion authorizing the City Administrator to execute the construction agreement with the Wenatchee Reclamation District. Council approved the motion.
Councilors described site activity as visible and welcomed progress on the bridge project and said the construction will improve pedestrian connectivity.
