Miami Beach proclaims May 28, 2025, as Maceo Hall Day for aviation achievements

The City Commission on May 28 presented a proclamation recognizing Maceo Hall, a graduating senior at Miami Beach Senior High, for accomplishments in aviation training and community service.

Commissioners noted Hall’s graduation from aerospace career education programs, an internship with aviator Barrington Irving, a discovery flight through the Young Eagles program, FAA first-class medical certificate and passing the FAA private pilot knowledge exam. The proclamation designated May 28, 2025, as Maceo Hall Day in Miami Beach.

Speakers also acknowledged community support for Hall’s training, mentioning the Luke Weathers Flight Academy acceptance and local mentors who assisted his aviation pathway. Hall spoke briefly, thanked the commission and said he will continue working toward a commercial pilot license and give back to the community.

The recognition was ceremonial and did not include any formal policy or budget action by the commission.
