The Decatur County Area Plan Commission unanimously approved several small rezoning petitions on June 4 that authorize new single‑family homes on rural parcels across the county.
Jeffrey Amor’s petition (APC 2025‑14) to rezone two lots in Westport from B‑1 to R‑2 for single‑family detached dwellings passed after Amor described plans to remove a small white building and construct two duplex units on the corner parcels. The commission recorded aye votes and the chair congratulated the petitioner and advised him to stay in contact with planning staff during the building‑permit process.
Two other petitions converting small tracts from A‑1 to A‑2 for single‑family homes also passed by the commission. Tyler and Crystal Brown sought to rezone approximately 2.99 acres out of a 16.1505‑acre parcel east of 9610 W County Road 100 S in Greensburg (APC 2025‑15); the file included septic and driveway approvals. Tina Watt’s petition (APC 2025‑16) to rezone roughly 2.5 acres for a modular home likewise included septic and driveway paperwork, and staff and the commission noted a minor survey line discrepancy that a future property survey will correct.
All three petitions were supported by the APC with no additional conditions recorded at the meeting. Commissioners advised petitioners to remain in contact with the planning office as they proceed through building and permitting steps.
