Grand County Housing Authority approves $10,000 down-payment loan, authorizes W-9 signature

The Grand County Housing Authority on June 2 approved a $10,000 down-payment assistance loan and authorized the acting chair to execute a W-9 form requested by USDA Rural Development.

Housing staff (identified in the meeting as Sheena) had submitted a memo requesting approval of the loan in the amount of $10,000, with instructions that the funds be wired to Title Company of the Rockies before closing. Commissioners approved the loan and the staff’s request that wiring instructions be provided when ready.

Separately, the housing authority requested authorization to update its W-9 (Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification) with USDA Rural Development. Commissioners discussed whether the form needed to be signed during the meeting and agreed the acting chair could sign the W-9 outside the meeting if necessary. A motion to authorize the acting chair to sign the W-9 was made and approved.

Both actions were taken while the commissioners were sitting as the Grand County Housing Authority; the board then returned to its regular session.
