Grounds Maintenance Director Justin Knoll and Public Works Director Guy Jeevers updated the Warrenton Board of Aldermen on city park work, street and sidewalk projects and wastewater treatment plant activity Tuesday.
Knoll said crews removed trees at the pool park and in the disc-golf area, worked on waterways, and planted 32 trees at Binkley Woods with a forest-relief grant. He said crews are preparing to reopen Morgan Park and expect materials to arrive within two weeks and installation to follow within days after delivery.
Knoll also said park gates typically open around 7:30 a.m., though one staff delay resulted in openings nearer 8:30 a.m. He said staff will try to avoid such delays.
Jeevers reported that Booneslick sidewalk work has started; the contractor has 94 calendar days to complete that work, placing substantial completion before September. He also reported progress at the wastewater treatment plant (dirt removal for a new clarifier and digesters and a recent power transfer) and ongoing planned curb-and-gutter and storm repairs on Red Bud.
These items were presented as informational reports; aldermen asked timing and inspection questions but took no formal action.
