Council conducts remote interview of Ike McKinnon for elected-officials compensation commission; item forwarded with recommendation

The Committee of the Whole conducted the scheduled 10:35 a.m. interview with Isaiah (Ike) McKinnon for reappointment to the elected-officials compensation commission. McKinnon experienced technical difficulties while joining but provided a brief summary of his background and approach.

McKinnon said he has been a public servant since 1961 in the military, in policing and as a university professor, and has served previously as deputy mayor. When asked what factors he considers in compensation deliberations, he said he looks to what the city can afford and to the rationale presented by those requesting changes.
