The Joint Committee on Legislative Administration voted to confirm two members of the Oregon State Capitol Foundation on June 13, 2025.
Genoa Ingberman, presenting on behalf of the foundation, told the committee this would be the last time the foundation came before the panel for confirmations because "the governor has signed our bill, House Bill 2269, which, going forward, will allow the Oregon State Capitol Foundation to approve its own board members." She asked the committee to confirm the two nominees the foundation had already approved.
The committee considered two nominees: Arne Roblin, identified in the presentation as a former state senator, and Jane Griggs, described as having held several legislative staffing positions and service on the Capital Planning Commission. Representative Bobbert spoke in support of Roblin, saying Roblin recruited him to run for the Legislature, and Senator Patterson said he could vouch for Griggs based on shared Rotary Club membership.
Co-chair Wagner moved to accept the foundation's recommendations to appoint Arne Roblin and Jane Griggs to the foundation's board. The motion passed on a roll call and the committee announced the appointments.
The confirmations conclude a transitional period for the foundation: according to the presenter, House Bill 2269 (signed by the governor) will let the foundation approve future board members without committee confirmation. The committee did not record further debate or amendments to the nominations in the public transcript.
The committee closed the work session on the appointments and moved on to other agenda items.
