Resident opposes proposed four-way stop at Mill Street and Broadway

Kenneth McCune, a Goldendale resident, told the City Council during the public-comment period that a proposed four-way stop at Mill Street and Broadway would create a traffic choke point and should not be installed.

"I think it's a bad idea myself. I think it's going to cause a problem there because of the ... flow of traffic leaving town should not be interrupted," McCune said. He said a four-way stop would slow traffic leaving the town during events such as the fair and Community Days and could create congestion.

McCune identified himself and gave his area of residence during the public-comment roll call. The council did not take formal action on the comment during the meeting; the item was not listed as a council motion or decision in the transcript excerpt.
