The Navajo County Board of Supervisors approved a task agreement with the Hopi Tribe on Wednesday to purchase asphalt concrete millings and cold-mix asphalt repair material for road maintenance activities on Route 25 and on Hopi public roadways.
Public works staff described the materials 27 intended uses: millings for Route 25 in Kokopovi and cold-mix asphalt for maintenance on Hopi public roads on an as-needed basis. The estimated project cost is $50,000 and staff said there is current capacity within the county 27s HEERF budget to cover the expense. Supervisor comments noted the Hopi Tribe had expressed appreciation for the county 27s partnership on tribal transportation matters. The board voted unanimously to approve the task agreement.
