IT staff briefs commissioners on three‑year VMware renewal via ISG; final invoice amount to be confirmed

IT staff briefed the board about renewing the county’s VMware licensing through the county’s IT services partner, ISG. Staff described VMware as the virtualization platform that lets the county consolidate multiple server workloads onto a smaller number of physical servers.

Staff said the county previously paid about $9,300 for VMware for a three‑year period and that the current three‑year renewal price has risen roughly $2,000 compared with that prior contract.
