Superintendent Katie reported several operational and facilities developments to the RSU 04 school board, including personnel hires, a signed school resource deputy agreement and contractor selections ahead of the 2025–26 school year.
Katie said the board will be asked to approve Sean Knox as the district’s new director of operations and described him as bringing relevant school experience. She also said she had signed a school resource deputy agreement for Deputy Connor Pinkham, who will join the district after completing school‑resource officer training in August.
On facilities contracting, Katie and Robbie said the district completed an RFP for sanding and plowing and interviewed two proposers; the district selected Larry Neto to continue the sanding and plowing work and expected to sign that contract the following day. They also reported recent paving work at district facilities and ongoing work on a sewer and AD (Americans with Disabilities) project at Libby Tozier. The SPS move into Libby Tozier and Cary Ricker was described as “going good,” with some items staged in gyms while floor work finishes.
Robbie told the board that the proposed bus garage lease had returned to legal counsel for final review; both district and landlord attorneys had exchanged edits and the district expected a clean final document to return to the board.
Katie gave praise to custodial and teaching staff for managing building moves and closures this spring and recognized district hiring progress; she said Marco will handle summer hiring work that does not require board approval.
