Berwyn South SD 100 policy committee reviews community-connection policy and updates nepotism policy

The district’s policy committee on Tuesday reviewed several proposed policy updates, including a first reading of Policy 8:10 (Connection with the Community) and initial language provided through PRESS, the Illinois Association of School Boards policy service.

Committee members said the PRESS-supplied policy drafts will return for a second read next month after committee review. The committee also discussed Policy 5:30 (nepotism), noting the district’s current policy dates to about 1997 and that the committee is recommending an update for modern language and clarity.

The committee identified several additional new policies provided by PRESS for committee consideration and said those items will also be scheduled for subsequent review. The board will receive second readings and potential adoption of policies at a future meeting.
