Board approves exterior façade renovation at Flamingo Pines Square shopping center

The Planning and Zoning Board unanimously approved a site plan amendment allowing exterior façade renovations and repairs at Flamingo Pines Square shopping center, 12502 Pines Boulevard.

Presenters Scott Hill and Giselle Verghez of Steve Myatt Architects described a three‑building renovation to address water damage, replace deteriorated parapet coping, update stucco and provide new trim, louvers and lighting. “The main goal is ... to modernize the exterior facade while fixing some of the water issues,” Hill said.

Applicants showed color samples and said signage will be handled under a separate permitting process. The work will include removing damaged plywood substrate where necessary, installing new sheathing, waterproofing and restuccoing. Board members and staff discussed color selection and asked that the installed colors reasonably match the presented materials; staff confirmed standard inspections and permits apply.

Member Alloy moved and Member Goldich seconded approval; the motion passed unanimously.
