Tallmadge — The Tallmadge City Council voted unanimously Thursday to authorize the sale of one obsolete city vehicle and to contract for replacement of a failed HVAC air-handling unit serving the multipurpose room, locker rooms and adjacent spaces.
Ordinance 2025-61 authorized the city to sell an unneeded vehicle (described in the meeting as a 2002 model 3150) at auction. The ordinance passed on a roll call vote of 7 to 0.
Ordinance 2025-63 authorized the mayor to contract—using the Sourcewell cooperative purchasing program—for purchase and installation of an air‑handling unit and condensing unit to replace a failed system. Director of Public Service Rohrer said the existing air-handling unit has failed and the facility was operating on a single unit. Council discussed whether a larger consolidation or multi-unit replacement would be more cost‑effective; Rohrer said consolidation is not more cost effective at this time and that the immediate need is to replace the failed unit.
Both ordinances passed on recorded roll-call votes with yes votes from Jessica Epstein, Donald Pavlik, Tracy Fletcher, Ted Roy, Nick Rubino, Jonathan Bolas and Christine Cipa. No no votes, abstentions or recusals were recorded.
