Council approves Walmart plan for eight EV chargers in Helotes

Helotes — The Helotes City Council unanimously approved a site plan on June 26 for Walmart to install eight electric-vehicle charging stations at its Helotes location.

Council member Sanders told the council the Planning and Zoning Commission had reviewed the project and “unanimously approved this project.” Sanders said he had “no issues” and described the company’s work as professional: “I don’t have any real comments in typical Walmart fashion. They’re they’re doing it in a very professional way.”

Council members noted a typographical error in the printed agenda: the posted item correctly showed eight chargers. No public opposition or additional conditions were recorded on the meeting record. The council approved the item as written.

The approval was taken as a consent/agendized action; no votes by individual council members were recorded on the audio beyond a voice vote where members said “Aye.”
