Marlboro Central School District board certifies $67,127,303 budget, affirms election results

Marlboro Central School District Board of Education members voted unanimously to accept the district budget vote results, certifying a $67,127,303 budget and the board trustees' election results at a public meeting. The board's roll call recorded all members voting yes.

Superintendent Mike Rydell said the public vote totaled "466 yes to a 187 no," and told the meeting the outcome preserves "all programming and all staffing across our district," a priority set by the board during the budget process.

The acceptance motion — "Resolved that the Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the superintendent of schools, accept the Marlborough Central School District budget vote results in the amount of $67,127,303 and board trustees' vote results for the 2025–26 school year as presented" — was moved and approved by roll call. Board members who recorded yes votes included Miss Nennini, Mister Kuha, Mister Mullen, Miss Reed, Miss Shezinski and the presiding board member.

Joanne Reed and Harry Toromaniides were identified by the superintendent as trustees who will serve on the board next year; the board formally accepted the trustees' vote results as part of the action.

Board members and the superintendent framed the vote as a strong signal of community support: one board member described it as "one of the, percentage wise, one of the best budget votes we've had," while also noting turnout remained below the district population. The superintendent thanked district staff and the community for the vote and for preserving district programs.

The board's acceptance finalizes the procedural certification of the public budget vote and the trustees' election as recorded at the meeting. No additional board action on the budget was taken at the session.
