The Oklahoma County Board of County Commissioners approved awards to multiple vendors for highway materials, supplies and services under procurement CW26025-1 following evaluation of 30 bids.
County purchasing staff recommended single- and multiple-vendor awards for categories including cement slurry, concrete, pipe, reinforcing steel, grader blades, oils, microsurfacing and seal-coating. The board voted to accept the recommendations and to rebid the Kevlar item at a later date.
The recommendation lists Oklahoma Cement Solutions for seamant slurry, DeLisi Brothers for concrete material, DeBrass and Korn Main for pipe, Patriot Steel for reinforcing steel bars, DeBrass and Warren Catt for steel grader blades, Vance Brothers for oils and microsurfacing, SilverStar Construction for cement kiln dust, Tri City Seal for seal-coating pavement services, and A and A Trucking for hauling and crushed materials. Native materials bids that met specifications were recommended for award to all responsive bidders; each department will select the “lowest and best” supplier for aggregates, asphalt and sands based on availability, price and transportation costs. Purchasers said the Kevlar line item will be rebid.
The board approved the motion to adopt the purchasing staff recommendations by voice vote.
The action completes the committee’s procurement step; project-level purchases will be made by the departments managing individual construction projects.
