The Mainland Planning Commission on July 1 approved a site plan for an Eliano’s Coffee drive‑through at 4983 Altama Avenue.
Christina Wright, senior planner, described SP‑25‑16 as an "approximate 8 50 square foot drive thru coffee shop" on a 0.44‑acre parcel zoned Highway Commercial and platted as Lot 3 of Brunswick Station (2016). Wright said the lot and two adjacent lots share cross‑access, parking, drainage and utility easements established by the Brunswick Station expedited plat.
Pete Schoenauer of Tidewater Engineering, the applicant's agent, confirmed the building is intended as a drive‑through only. Commissioners asked about elevations and site plans on the meeting screen; Schoenauer said the elevations were included in the application packet and staff could display them online or circulate paper copies for public review. No members of the public stepped forward to speak in favor or opposition.
A motion to approve SP‑25‑16 passed unanimously, 5–0. The approval authorizes the drive‑through site plan as presented; final permitting, construction details and signage will be reviewed in the county's standard building and site permitting process.
