Commissioners update on Burnett Ranch Road flooding and courthouse renovations

A county official said they inspected Burnett Ranch Road and reported that water levels had dropped from earlier depths, and that the county is preparing a chip-seal project and additional elevation work to improve access for law enforcement and emergency personnel. The speaker said the county needs about another foot of elevation in the low spot and described coordinating crews and equipment to address the issue; no immediate timeline was given beyond ongoing work planning.

On courthouse renovations and annexes, Commissioner Beauchamp reported a final walk-through was scheduled for the courthouse building; the Iowa Park annex was preparing a parking-lot pour and was expected to install floor material the following week. Commissioners said the shorter update time compared with earlier meetings was a positive sign that projects are progressing.
