City clerk opens 30-day public comment on codifying recent ordinances into official records

The city clerk presented an administrative resolution that will compile ordinances the council passed into the city's official record and open a 30-day public comment period before returning to the council with an implementing ordinance.

Miss Adams, city clerk, said the action is a periodic administrative step to have ordinances written into the official city record. She said the longer-than-usual period covered in the resolution was chosen to be prudent because printing updates carries a cost and the compilation does not change the effective dates of any ordinance; ordinances remain effective according to the dates set when they were passed.

The clerk said the resolution opens a 30-day public comment window and staff will return with a standalone ordinance after that period.

No formal council action was taken during the work session; the administrative resolution will appear on the council agenda and related materials for public review.
