The Hilliard Planning and Zoning Commission on July 10 approved a request from Cornerstone Christian Fellowship to allow an on-site storage container at 4066 Main Street.
Staff told the commission the 8-by-12 storage unit is already on the property and is used to store donated furniture and household items the church distributes to families in need. Staff recommended approval with a single condition that all items be kept inside the container and no outdoor storage be allowed.
Applicant Irma Chan told the commission the shed will remain “as long as there’s a need” and that the church coordinates pickups rather than allowing unattended drop-offs. Commissioners asked whether the installation was intended to be permanent; Chan said the unit can be removed when it is no longer needed and that the donor who provided it could retrieve it.
The motion to approve case PZ25-25 was moved by Commissioner Moog, seconded by Commissioner Saunders, and carried 5–0.
The approval is limited to the storage container as described in the staff report and the single condition restricting outdoor storage.
