Council voted to accept a $3,310 Ohio EPA Recycle Ohio source-reduction grant to replace two water fountains at Purvis Park with combination water-bottle refilling stations that include new drinking fountains and grant-recognition signage.
Deanna Bremer Fisher explained the grant covers two combination units and required signage recognizing the Ohio EPA. Councilmembers noted the current fountains needed replacement and thanked staff for obtaining the grant. Councilman King moved to accept the grant and Councilwoman Sachs seconded; the motion passed on roll call.
Bremer Fisher confirmed the units are bilevel drinking fountains with bottle-filling capability and said the grant application had been prepared earlier, when her title was listed differently on the application; she agreed to provide council with her updated job description by the next meeting when requested.
The grant will be used to replace the two units at Purvis Park; the service department and parks staff will manage installation and signage per the grant conditions.
