Woburn commission approves change of ownership interest for Sam Walker’s American Tavern

The Woburn License Commission unanimously approved an application to record a change in ownership interest and a change of pledge of license, stock and inventory for Sam Walker’s American Tavern, clearing the way to reflect a new equity partner.

Applicant representatives told the commission that Lauren Cantor, who had been working in the business since it opened, did not initially contribute capital but invested roughly a year after the restaurant opened and should be recorded on company documents. The change was brought to the commission’s attention by the statewide Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission (ABCC) during a prior filing related to a change of manager.

Patrick Dillon, who identified himself as one of the owners, and Lauren Cantor appeared and confirmed for the commission that Cantor’s equity interest had been formalized. The commission moved to accept the application and voted 3-0 in favor.

Commissioners noted no need for a public hearing on the record change and thanked the applicants. The approval was procedural: it records an ownership interest change and a pledge of license, stock and inventory as described in the application.
